Become a Doctor to the Barrios

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

The Doctors to the Barrios program was created by the DOH in 1993 to address the lack of doctors practicing in rural communities in the Philippines. Since then, 34 batches of doctors have been deployed to various geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in the Philippines to work in primary care and public health. There are currently 215 doctors serving under the program, deployed everywhere from Batanes to Tawi-tawi.
